Review: Good quality construction and function. - I skeptically made this purchase and I'm extremely happy with it. I have two cats indoors and had a gang of three ferals, visiting my backyard and marking it regularly. No bueno. I haven't seen or smelled them in months. I have had no issues personally with this product. It's done everything that it said. I've had it for about 3 to 4 months now.
Review: It Works: Our Cat No Longer Wakes Us Up At Night - We bought a Yard Enforcer from desertcart about three weeks ago, and have been very pleased with it. We decided to give it a try, because our little cat likes to perch on the bedroom window sill at night, and check out the side yard that is illuminated by a street light. Unfortunately, on a fairly regular basis, she had been receiving nocturnal visitors (cats, raccoons, the occasional dog) around 3:00 AM or so, resulting in her getting agitated and waking my wife up. (I know what animals have been there, based on the tracks I found in the bare dirt I'd had spread over the yard during recent landscaping, as well as a couple of opportune sightings from the other bedroom window). This had been happening about twice a week; maybe more. Since installing the Yard Enforcer three weeks ago, there has not been one single episode of any animal getting close to the window and getting our kitty stirred up. I don't have an outdoor camera so I cannot conclusively state the Enforcer has run the visitors off, but given the fact that we've gone from at least two disturbances a week to absolute zero, I think the Enforcer is doing its job. (I can state with absolute certainty it has sprayed ME on those occasions when I've wandered too close to it when it was activated, even though I thought I was too far away / out of its 120 degree range of view. If it can detect me simply waving my hand at it from a distance 30 feet, it should be able to see a large cat at 5-6 feet.) The device is powered by four AA batteries. It has knobs to adjust the duration of the water spraying, as well as the sensitivity of the motion sensor (less sensitive for large animals like deer, more sensitive for cats and rats etc.). It also has a control knob so it can be used all the time, night only, day only, or turned completely off. It was easy to assemble, and easy to place in the yard. The only minor gripes I have is that I wish it was of brass and metal construction instead of plastic (especially the sprinkler head), but given that at most it goes off for a few seconds every night or so (or even less, once the neighborhood transient animals have been "trained" they will be sprayed), the plastic should be good enough. (I should also note that if it was made of solid brass, it would have to be much more expensive, which might make it too pricey for a lot of folks). The other concern I have is that it has only one single, relatively short, anchoring stake to push into the ground. The single stake does make it very to move the device when mowing the yard, but I would personally prefer a more stable system. To be fair, it has not moved or toppled over even after it's sprayed water several times, but if I'd been designing it I'd have given it a better mount (longer single stake, tripod spikes that went into the ground, or maybe even a large heavy metal ring it was screwed into, like a sprinkler base). My tendency to over-engineer things notwithstanding, the Yard Enforcer does what it is supposed to do, and has completely eliminated our cat's alarms in the wee hours of the morning. If you have deer, raccoons, dogs, cats, possums, or other animals that are causing trouble in your yard, I definitely recommend you give the Yard Enforcer a try.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Will it work on mailmen delivering bills?**
A: Shannon, yes it will work on things as large as humans, though we can't promise that they won't return with said bills at a later date.

**Q: There seems to be an additional part in my package that is about 2" long and 1" high that is not part of assembly instructions. Any clue as to what this is?**
A: The extra item drove me nuts for about 30 minutes. Until i figured out that it is simply a screw on replacement part so the "helmet head sensor" can be mounted by sliding the square part on the "valve square front. This lowers the "Helmet sensor" to be about eye level with like a rabbit or cat.
Simply unscrew the all black small round knob that is on the "helmet sensor" remove the screw and remove the piece you just detached (the 4 inch bracket that has a round hole that would normally fit the vertical pipe shaft. Now replace that 4 inch part with the smaller 2 inch long part that has a square end and a round end. Push the screw thru the round end and into your "helmet sensor" (it only fits one way), then hook it/slide it onto the sensors square front. The "helmet sensor" now just sits there, not exactly a secured in a long term way but i guess it works.

**Q: What happens if a human steps on the lawn? Will that turn on and spray on a person? I don't want it ends up spraying on myself 😂**
A: Yes. It has happened to me also. If you walk on the side of Orbit without motion detector it will not turn on. It only detects movement of animal or human on front side of device. You can walk up to it and turn a dial to deactivate it temporarily.

**Q: How does this work compared to the scarecrow? need to keep a herring out of my Koi pond.
Thank you,**
A: I have used this on my Koi pond for many years now with great success. So I don't get sprayed during the day.... my water supply has a battery timer.... The timer is set for 10PM tp 8 AM..... so simple..... works great and I can set the time for it to work.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Seems to be working well; night sensor doesn't work as should; cars set it off
*by G***S on April 1, 2021*

*Update: Has been 10 months of use. Leakage is very minimal and we haven't noticed a big change in our water bill. However, two months ago we had to move the sprinkler from next to the garage door to about 8' down the driveway because of the unreliability of the "NIGHT" setting. Delivery drivers and we were getting sprayed when the sun was fully up or the light was still bright (cloudy at 4pm...you're getting sprayed; 8:30 a.m. as the sun peaking through but still bright light...sprayed). Moving it meant we could alter the direction, so that even when you pull into the driveway, you can pull up near the garage and access the sidewalk from the garage to the front porch without getting yourself wet. Your car however will get sprayed. The new location is inside a flower bed 30' from the road and set to spray 180 degrees with the sensor still pointed Eastward at the driveway/road to get any dogs or cats (or nighttime trespassers-which is great when you're on vacation or work trips) walking onto our property. The trick is that at 30', every vehicle that passes sets off the sprinkler. So our water usage is up. That's not good. I'm not sure what the solution is. And with holiday deliveries, the drivers are coming well after dark, and if they park in the road and run a package up, they are getting sprayed, so we may just have to turn it off until after the first of January. The sprinkler has cut down significantly on nighttime visits of off leash cats and dogs. I just wish the nighttime sensor was more accurate for "darkness". And I wish that vehicles were not setting it off. Note: we have not yet changed our original batteries from February and it does go off at least once a day, numerous times with the new location-that's a good thing. If only folks would respect their neighbors and obey the leash laws (and picking up poops!). **************************** Have been using this product about a month on a set of new batteries. Have it set to operate at NIGHT. We have rude neighbors who do not follow the leash laws and allow dogs and cats to roam free. This purchase was to prevent dogs and cats from pooping and peeing all over our driveway and adjacent landscaping. Although they come at all hours, we cannot have this triggering during the day as it will "shoot" all delivery drivers, guests and us coming and going. So we chose NIGHT. Unfortunately, the night sensor doesn't work well. For example it is 8:30 a.m., the sun is fully up, and the sprinkler is still activating. The sensor is pointed EAST to get the first light of day. Just this morning, it went off with the garage door, my dog and I were sprayed twice-coming and going, "something" was sprayed before our walk because everything was wet so I am anxious to check the Wildlife Cam footage. So far only one delivery driver has said he was scared when it sprayed him for a morning delivery. It was a cloudy morning before storms so it goes off then too. There is no way to set the device to, let's say, run for 8 , 10, or 12 hours after dark. If it had the capability to be hooked up to electrical then it would be easy to have it connected to a timer such as we use for our landscape lights. You'll also need a heavy duty hose. Our first hose blew the side out after 1 day. The shortest heavy duty hose the home supply had was 25'. I have been very worried about water pressure build-up causing a leak at the house or the hose end. We have the water pressure turned on "just" enough to allow the sprinkler to operate. So far it is okay, once we double checked our gaskets in the hose. We have a double head connector at the house. One side goes to the Yard Enforcer. The other side allows us to wash the car or water the flowers, etc. HOWEVER, if you use your water outlet to do anything else other than the Yard Enforcer, then you have to try and remember how far to leave the water spigot "on" when you are through so that enough water operates the Yard Enforcer. If there isn't enough, the spray comes out a big flaccid and won't go far. Too much "on" and you risk leaks at the house spigot or hose end. I would like to hope we can change the behavior of the cats and dogs that are using our driveway, car tires, landscaping as their daily toilet and eventually put the Enforcer away for a while. Of course, the BEST option is that people wouldn't be so lazy, rude and un-law abiding as to just let their "pets" run free. We've spent over $1000 on devices and fences (as allowed..we are restricted) and this is just another attempt to save our sanity.
