Is it a rubber seal or screw on? Also what size is this jar?** A: The lid is entirely metal - no rubber gasket exists to seal it to the jar. The lid does not screw on to the jar. It just rests on top of it. However, I have not noticed this to in any way make it less effective than other cookie jars I have had that used gaskets and rubber to form a seal. The cookies stay just as fresh in this as in any other jar I've had. The size of the jar is probably 8 inches in diameter at the base and about 12 inches to 14 inches tall. That's a guess, but it is plenty big to hold a good batch of cookies. I'm guessing the volume is somewhere along the lines of 100 ounces or so. **Q: Is rgis cookie jar air tight?** A: Not sure but I can say it keeps my cookies fresh for a long time. Generously sized, although as others have mentioned, the cover is rather flimsy. Some asked about whether there is a rubber seal on the cover to keep the cookies fresh.
