You fill the beakers up with water, we added color to our water to add some more fun too it. It doesn't matter what temp your water is, as the creature bath bomb will start to fizz once water is added. It takes a little bit if you place the ball in with care. My son cracked his first ball and it fizzled too quickly. This is a lot of fun, and it's for all ages... my son is 8 yrs old and even my 10 yr old likes it and our 4yr old niece. We just spent 2 hrs playing with it, we are a science family and this product is just Phonomal! The product shown here is what I would consider the started, it's pretty easy to set up and clean. I did have it explode on me when we first attempted to push the water into the beaker with the egg because it was kinked lol. It can be very messy but it's so worth it! I've seen a few comments about staining but we have a black glass table so didn't have that issue and it didn't stain any skin or tools we used to clean up. Each pod came with a small identifying card and a mini poster with a quiz on the back which was a great time killer while the pods dissolved. (Each pod took about 5 mins to dissolve unless we stirred it) This came with 2 pods. I would recommend this to everyone who like Hatchamels, surprise eggs, or bath bombs.
