Β The video pretty much says it all.Not the best bit of videography, but the reason I am standing next to the washing line in my back garden is because the movement of the washing line is a good indication of the wind. Clever huh? OK, maybe not.At the end of the video, I show a screen-grab of the video time-line, so you can see the relative difference between the 'with deadcat' and 'without deadcat' waveforms.Anyway, although the Olympus LS-P1 and LS-P2 have loads of digital filters, if you want the best sound quality outdoors, you need a deadcat. Unfortunately, because the LS-P1 and LS-P2 are small, practically no generic deadcat will fit them, so you need a custom made one. The Gutmann is (as of this writing) the only one, making it essential if you own either of these recorders.Note – I own both the LS-P1 and LS-P2, and have tested for both, although the video shows only the LS-P2.Note 2 - Yes, the 'without' is seriously clipping.
