Review: Worked as advertised! - I purchased these because I am wearing a Zio Patch heart monitor for two weeks. In the directions for the monitor they warn you against getting it wet. The patch is adhered to your chest and is about 2" x 5". They tell you that you can shower but to keep your back to the water. All I can say is good luck with that! There is no way to rinse your neck or armpits without some water running down your chest. So I looked into some way to cover it up while showering and found these on desertcart. I got the 9 x 9 inch ones but somewhat smaller would have also worked. I had to shave my chest and wipe it with rubbing alcohol to apply the Zio Patch, so I did the same for the Shower Shields. I also put a strip of medical type tape across the top of the shield to insure that no water runs under the top edge. It works great; I've taken several showers since I got these and no water has gotten under them to ruin the Zio Patch yet. My only complaint is that there is a bit of pain when I remove the shield after showering - they stick that well! I recommend shaving the area where the adhesive is on the shield; I'm pretty sure water would leak through around the hair and the hair would be pulled out anyway when you pull the shield off!

**Q: What are the measurements of the non-stick area?**
A: Probably 6x6 non-stick part. I purchased these after my appendix surgery in March 2015 the sticky part won't stay. I had to keep my stitches and staples dry during a shower but these didn't work. I returned them for a refund with no problem. My parents went and purchased some Walgreens pads similar to these that worked much better. Sorry I wouldn't recommend these unless you use tape also to keep them in place.

**Q: what is the material used?**
A: They seem to be a thin flexible sheet of plastic with extremely waterproof seal around them. I have used the large one to cover a hemodialysis catheter on the chest and a peritoneal dialysis catheter on the abdomen. It keeps the area totally dry. You can’t find this size of waterproof covering at Walmart or the pharmacies. The price is very reasonable on Amazon.

**Q: Does the chest have to be shaved or will it work on a chest with hair?**
A: We highly recommend using Shower Shield on shaved or hair free skin. If there is hair present the product will stick but depending on how much hair this can cause leaks. Every hair allows a path for water to get through the adhesive border.

**Q: How many Shower Shields are in the bulk pkg for the 9X9 size?**

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Decently good product

I started dialysis again recently, they put a cath at the hospital and provided me with shower covers ( same as here). I do not go in the shower directly, I use a shower hose and shower body sections at a time ( from bottom to top). The pictures above are before and after showers. Pros: decent cover, enough for me to not get my catheter wet. size is arguable enough. does hold on my body if not in the heat for a long period of time ( I clean where the adhesive tape will be with alcohol ). Cons: 1. like people say the adhesive tape does not hold too much to the body, after a while, it does start peeling off. 2. A little too expensive, I don't know how hard it would be to make this, but it should be cheaper. in my opinion. 3. Could be a little bigger, maybe an inch or so, I guess it depends on the type of catheter, the gauze that covers the tip of the end of my cath, gets wet most of the time, doesn't matter how I try to cover it. Overall to me, it's a decent product, I know the way I shower is probably annoying for people ( and it is), but you should not be on a long term catheter for dialysis, at this moment is only because covid hospitals are not doing surgeries(waiting for Peritoneal cath).
