She is brave, she is flawed, she is amusing, she is loyal. Meeting her, her real world friends, and her game teammates was fantastic! The world building and game management kept my interest from the beginning. Not your typical system based LitRPG novel. Which are the types i usually enjoy, but there are some elements to it that are similar. The storyline, the characters... it will draw you in, I promise! Also like that it's based in Rochester, NY. Miki is the heroine and is full of questions when she sort of dies and is pulled into an alternate reality and then back and forth again. She has many questions (as do we) and the 2 lets say love interests Jackson and Luka (I hate love triangles) will not answer them. She keeps asking, they keep refusing, and it is so annoying. Eventually we get some of the answers, but if the book were restructured and the questions answered in the beginning with out all the tedious back and forth a dozen times, it would have been a much better book. I thought this worked as a opening chapter in the Game series. The characters were everything that I wanted and was engaged with the Game itself. It had that romance element that i was looking for. Eve Silver does a fantastic job in writing this and left me wanting to read more in this series.
