**Q: what kind of batteries does it need?**
A: Hi, Sam.  This device includes built-in tamper resistant batteries.  Works right out of the box, you don't need to fuss with that at all.  And, the built-in batteries will power this device for a total lifetime usage of 30 minutes.  Thanks for reaching out.  Michael

**Q: So to activate you pull it and now the unit is detached from your body as an attacker pulls you away.  Why does speaker not stay with person**
A: This is my exact point. The alarm can be thrown far away and he will still take off with you. Alarm should be attached and stay with you and not the useless pin

**Q: can you change battery**
A: I believe batteries last for a year or more but are not replaceable?  I bought it for my Granddaughter who is at college.  And she loves having it.

**Q: Are these waterproof in rain for example**
A: Hi, unfortunately, for sake of affordability to as many people as possible, we did not add a water proof feature to this particular group of models.  We are currently working on another product that will be weather proof, so check back with us in a couple of months.  Thanks!
