It would be a vague approximation and if that's all you have so be it- you could make it taste good by maybe combining the two.If you ever have a chance to try a package from Batchelors for a treat one time they are so delicious with fish and chips . **Q: Are these dried peas?** A: Yes peas are dried, must be soaked in water to be reconstituted before eaten **Q: Can you please tell me what the ingredients are ? Do they have artificial colorings in them? Or anything other than just the peas?** A: Just the dried marrowfat peas. Plus a “soaking tablet” made from Sodium Carbonate, Sodium Bi-carbonate, & Sodium Acid per the ingredient disclosure. I tried using the peas available in the grocery here in the US, but the results were not impressive. My curiosity got the better of me and I decided to place an order online. These peas are expensive, no doubt about it, but the result when I made them at home was good.
