Durability has been great too, it's twice as thick as a good speed square, 3 times as thick as a cheap one, and throughout the 5(?) years I've had mine it's been a tank and doesn't look bad for being in my clutzy hands for that long.Even the pocket guide it comes with is quality. I've gotten it soaked in the rain at least a dozen times, the pages are still crisp, the print is clear without a single hint of running and I guess they used stainless steel staples or something. No rust. The pouch is holding up great except for a hole I burned in the pencil pocket while welding. No sign of the paint chipping out of the markings after heavy use and the best part?I paid $60 for a glorified speed square. This has permanently ingrained a compass in the back of my cerebellum that always points to the location of my pivot square at any given moment. I used to lose speed squares all the time and it's just a nuisance having to go to the hardware store and buy a new one every 6-12 months, I've never lost track of this thing for a moment. **Q: will this fit in the speed square slot in my occidental tool bag?** A: As it is the approximate dimension as the Swanson Speed Square, if one with fit, so will the other **Q: Can it mark a angle sharper than 45 degrees?** A: By sharper than 45 degrees I assume you mean “less than 45 degrees” the answer is yes. You can actually measure any angle by simply changing the base line. Just rotate the unit 45 deg. and or flip it over to get the angle you want.
