## Description

The Thai Machete represents the culmination of over 4 years of development and refinement. Like the Thai swords that inspired it, our Machete is beautifully balanced, with a keen cutting edge and a sharp tip. Though most commonly seen used in pairs when practicing traditional Thai fighting arts, these long curved blades are amazingly versatile. Light enough to swing one handed, but with a long enough handle to employ a two handed grip for extra leverage and cutting power. The Thai Machete’s wide blade and curved cutting edge make it an excellent brush cutter. Slicing grass, vines and light foliage with ease. Its fully sharpened blade is made from the same tough 1055 Carbon Steel as the other blades in our incredibly popular Machete line up. It's tough polypropylene handle has a flattened oval grip that won’t twist or turn in your hand, while its steel reinforced guard offers extra hand protection. Fully sharpened right here in our Ventura HQ, the Thai Machete comes complete with a Cor-Ex sheath for carry and storage.

Review: Within the category a great product - I have had these for several days now and it has been hard to put them down. I bought two of these for practicing krabi-krabong or Thailand weapons training. I cannot speak for real Thailand machetes but these are well balanced and the grips feel good in the hand. These walk a fine line between machetes and swords, but the thickness and quality of the steel are not really quite up to real sword standards, but as machetes they are comparable to most that I have seen, even some old school US issue. The long grip is comfortable for one or two hand use. The biggest let down in my opinion is the sheaths that they come with, but I intend to make my own. I gave them 4/5 stars for sturdiness and durability due to lower grade steel and if someone were looking to "sword fight" with them, I would not expect long life or at least requiring repeated sharpening. They are sharp right out of the box, but will need some sharpening for the best edge and these have the "burs" that Cold Steel machetes are (in)famous for. For the price I am very happy with them.
Review: Nice sword in a machete configuration - It is a machete not a sword but looks like a sword. It has a nice thin blade made of spring carbon steel manufactured in South Africa. It has a long handle but it can be used single handed, the blade is sharp it’s a slicer more than a chopper. I look at it more as a novelty than an actual machete. If you want a machete get the bolo that one is a nice chopper. This one It is more of a zombie apocalypse tool if you know what I mean. It is well made and if you get it for the right price around $30 go for it. You can have some fun on your backyard cutting plastic bottles and other things. So let your star wars kid come out.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ You'll need to finish the edge yourself

Great price to try out an unusual style of machete. Keeping that in mind, I'm not upset that the edge is unfinished. I had read another review that said there were burrs so I also bought a Wisemen Trading Dual Grit Sharpening Puck for $20 through Amazon, so this will give me an opportunity to try it out. I'm glad I did because that review was right and there are a lot of burrs along the length of this edge. The blade is light, so I'm not sure it could stand up to rugged work but it allows you to wield it one-handed without much effort. I love the length of the handle, it really helps balance the long blade and lets you comfortably choose your own two-handed position.
