As a Chemical Engineer, I love how familiar it is and that it’s just like a 500 mL beaker used in a Chemistry lab. Maybe that’s just the nerd in me. Markings are still visible after many uses and haven't worn off. One caution: the glass is quite a bit thinner than most measuring cups so you can’t abuse it like most. And little kids may accidentally break it when tossing something in the dishwasher near it. But I’ve owned the thick ones built like a tank but the markings wear off. Not this beaker / measuring cup.
