I was amused by the foam inserts, but I can see how they'd be protective if you intended to jog in it or something. I took them out, and it doesn't seem to have hurt anything. When donning an athletic bra that's snug enough to work well, I usually spend half a minute in a state of panic. This one, for whatever reason, goes on without the usual thrashing and swearing. I have a smaller rib cage for my bust size. It is almost impossible to get a casual,lounge or exercise bra to fit. I usually wear a 36g in freya and 36h in goddess. I am looking for sleep bras and ordered this in a 1x. I love the snug fit, supportive not tighe,of the wide band. My boobs were completely confined! Other brands may fit in the band but not in the cup or too big in band for cups to fit. The padded inserts fit over the whole breast, not just a nipple cover. I usually pull those inserts out and throw them away. I left these in they were great! I am so happy! I am washing it now and will wear it tonight. The only downside is my 'arm pit fat' is totally exsposed, like the bra isnt wide enough.
