It comes with a durable 7.5mmx6M shielded cable and is designed to perform reliably in varying environmental conditions. ## Description The R102 is an active aluminum ribbon microphone designed for the recording studio. It features the high sensitivity of a condenser microphone, yet exhibits the smoother frequency response and excellent transient response of a ribbon microphone. The speed response of a ribbon mic is optimal among all types of microphones. The R102 active aluminum ribbon microphone consists of two parts: an electro-magnetic transducer and an impedance converting circuit. The electro-magnetic transducer applies a unique magnetic circuit field with a strong Nd magnet. The aluminum alloy ribbon, with a thickness of only 2.5 microns, is suspended between two poles and vibrates in synchrony with the incoming acoustical energy (sound waves). Due to the extremely low mass of the ribbon, the transducer of this microphone boasts a premium transient response in converting acoustic energy into electronic signals. Whether at low / high frequencies or low / high sound pressure levels, the R102 delivers a precise reproduction of the original sound ## Features - Includes: One 7.5mmx6M two-core shielded cableOE, one mounting - Wide and extended frequency response - High sensitivity, wide dynamic range, low distortion and decreased noise - Stable performance, unaffected by the surrounding temperature and humidity. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Antenna Location | Studio Recordings | | Asin | B00CA0CLJG | | Audio Sensitivity | 140 db | | Brand | Superlux | | Built In Media | Microphone | | Color | Black | | Compatible Devices | Personal Computer | | Connectivity Technology | USB, XLR | | Connector Type | XLR | | Customer Reviews | 5.0 5.0 out of 5 stars (2) 5.0 out of 5 stars | | Enclosure Material | Aluminum | | Global Trade Identification Number | 04710423846180 | | Item Dimensions | 13.78 x 10.63 x 3.94 inches | | Item Weight | 1.6 pounds | | Manufacturer | Superlux | | Mfr Part Number | R102 | | Microphone Form Factor | Gooseneck | | Model Name | R102 | | Model Number | R102 | | Number Of Channels | 1 | | Polar Pattern | Bidirectional | | Power Source | Corded Electric | | Signal To Noise Ratio | 78 db | | Special Feature | Stand | ## Product Details - **Recommended Uses For Product:** Studio Recordings - **Brand:** Superlux - **Connectivity Technology:** USB, XLR - **Connector Type:** XLR - **Special Feature:** Stand - **Compatible Devices:** Personal Computer - **Color:** Black - **Included Components:** Microphone - **Polar Pattern:** Bidirectional - **Audio Sensitivity:** 140 Decibels ## Images ![Aluminum Ribbon Figure 8 Microphone by Superlux - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/517ZaMFX6JL.jpg) ![Aluminum Ribbon Figure 8 Microphone by Superlux - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/514hC085NlL.jpg) ![Aluminum Ribbon Figure 8 Microphone by Superlux - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/418WHXMu1fL.jpg) ![Aluminum Ribbon Figure 8 Microphone by Superlux - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/419WR7ssJkL.jpg) ![Aluminum Ribbon Figure 8 Microphone by Superlux - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51T5Ps-K96L.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It's warm sound is excellent. Also *by on Reviewed in the United States February 8, 2015* It's warm sound is excellent. Also, it's nice to not have to find a mic input that doesn't have Phantom power enabled. This needs Phantom power in able to work. The only thing I don't like is the gaudy label they stuck on the front of the microphone's plastic carrying case. It makes the mic look cheap when it's in the case. I think an aluminum vertical case would have been better. I fear storing a ribbon microphone for long periods of time horizontally. I have read that storing them horizontally can make the ribbon element stretch over time. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good guitar amp mic. *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom May 2, 2018* I bought this mic because reviews consistently said it performed well as an electric guitar mic. I'm very happy with the sound, which is warm and full. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.kg/products/6181332-aluminum-ribbon-figure-8-microphone-by-superlux](https://www.desertcart.kg/products/6181332-aluminum-ribbon-figure-8-microphone-by-superlux) --- *Product available on Desertcart Kyrgyzstan* *Store origin: KG* *Last updated: 2026-10-05*
