I’d rather be drowning in you” ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A new Elsie fave!! *by A***A on January 15, 2025* Well, I might just have a new favorite Elsie Silver book!! I absolutely ATE this one up (and have already done a reread of it because it was that good). Wild Eyes is not only a top tier Elsie book, but it’s also easily one of my top ten books of the year! So far, Wild Eyes is my favorite of the Rose Hill series (and I really did enjoy Wild Love, so that’s saying something). It has everything I love about Elsie’s books - the relatable inner monologues, the banter, the dual POV, the chemistry and the spice (my god, the spice 🥵). The plot and pacing were also really good - I ended up staying up way too late to finish it. I really, really loved Skylar as a character - she was complex, interesting and most importantly, relatable. She had a lot of chaos in her life from page one a large part of her story was around conquering this and deciding what kind of life she wanted to live. Enter Weston, secret fanboy extraordinaire. From the jump he was supportive of Skylar (if a touch overbearing, in an endearing way), and was so perfect for her. They were the type of couple that even when they were just friends, I was rooting for them to be more. They worked really well together - their banter was top tier, their support of each other was lovely, and their chemistry was INSANE (don’t get me started on the spice). Also, I loved the family dynamic between Skylar and Weston’s family was so friggin cute. Elsie Silver is keeping the romance girlies fed with this one - it’s got great banter, unreal steam and plenty of heart warming moments. I didn’t think anyone would dethrone Cade as my fave single father romance hero, but then Weston came onto the scene.
