Plus him trying to recover the painting of the fallen madona with the large boobies.This show has a lot of humor by doing the most utter ridiculous things. Like when Herr Flick of the gestapo is walking in a forest a squirell shrows a nut at him with this he replies I am from the Gestapo, this immediatly is replied with a burst of hazzlenuts fired at Her Flick and oeberhausen.I always love watching this show cause it has a lot of running gigs like Officer Crabtree who is an english policeman who cannot speak french but tries to do so in really bad english whilst when asked to speak english to the pilots he can do so in perfect english. The most famous quote of him is "Gud Meuning" .Or the Queer luitenant with his Tank herbet also an excellent personage who loves Rene and always tries to get him to come to these "Special bars" which is also hilarious to see at times the things he pulls.All in All i must say 'Allo 'Allo is an excellent series only suprassed by fawlty towers and is a must see for everyone! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Classic gold *by D***1 on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 June 2012* Ok so the 80's provided us with some utter disasters: shoulder pads, ghetto blasters, neon socks, the list goes on. But some things are truly genius and deserve to be lauded.This little piece of comedy gold tells the story of Rene Artois, owner of the French "Cafe Rene" in occupied France. He has to deal with being friends with the Germans, seeing waitress Yvette behind his wife's back, helping the stranded Allied airmen return to England and of course help the Germans recover the painting of "the Reclining Madonna viv ze big boobies" (which is actually hidden in his cellar the whole time).The days may now be gone where you can sit down to a Saturday evening TV show and end it crying with laughter and aching sides from laughing so hard, but with 'Allo 'Allo on DVD, you'll never have that issue again. It's no wonder this great show lasted 10 years (longer than most modern shows are expected to last even before the first episode is aired) and it is worth a watch, whether it's because it's something you grew up with, something that brings back fond memories of evenings with the whole family or just because you want something truly hilarious to watch. 'allo 'allo hasn't viewed here in NZ for 10-15 years, so I was a little worried that it wouldn't be as funny today as it seemed back when I first saw it. Well, it is still a classic comedy. The pilot show IS amusing but by time the 3rd or 4th edition the plot has started to thicken and begun making all its twists and turns, and is side-splitting funny. In brief the story is set in German-occupied France, featuring Renee the cafe owner, his wife and two staff, Yvette and Maria (who he is secretly involved with both of them). Throw in assorted dodgy German officers, the Gestapo, the French resistance, a French forger and British Airmen - the only way I could sum it up would be to say it is a comedy adventure about the pursuit of a painting and the quest to get the British Airmen out of France.
