I stained my piece with a walnut color and it took the stain very nicely. I then polyurethaned the piece. Very happy with the product. **Q: Could it be cut with a CNC machine?** A: I don’t know what a CNC machine is but it can be cut very easily with a box cutter or an exacto knife. **Q: I have no 3m backing on mine. What gives?** A: I would contact the seller or Amazon for a replacement. I had a peel and stick backing on mine therefore I am unsure why you didn’t have the backing in yours. **Q: Description says it has 3M peel and stick backing but reading further application is described using Contact cement..which is correct?** A: It came with the peel and stick backing but it applied easily and I allowed it to sit to ensure good adhesion.
