The silicone ring creates an airtight seal. This allows you to ferment in your corny keg. It feels very durable. You will want to get a floating dip (floating stainless steel ball and a silicone tube) tube and replace the standard stainless steel dip tube on the corny keg. You also want to make sure you leave some headspace in the keg for the kraussen during fermentation.It comes with a silicone bung and a plastic 2 chamber air lock, you can use a blowoff tube instead by inserting a tube into the bung and have the other end of the tube in a cup of sanitizer.Thank you for reading my review, I hope it was helpful! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars it works *by T***E on Reviewed in the United States on January 28, 2024* For the price I'm quite satisfied with this, it does work to add an airlock to your corny keg. It is very simple, just a replacement lid with a hole that fits the silicone plug. The silicone plug has a hole through the middle so you can fit the airlock into the top of it. The included o-ring with mine is white, not sure what material it is so I may replace it with a new one. The lid fits fine.
