It helps you understand a lot of the things about Tiger’s personality in his earlier tour days. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great book. *by J***T on April 26, 2019* The emergence of Tiger Woods opened up a whole new chapter in my interest in watching golf on tv. After reading this book, I now know that merely calling Tiger a phenomena does not do justice to the amazing amount of work he put into perfecting his game. In retrospect, it is no wonder he blew the doors off of the competition. Who else has ever started so young and worked so hard for so long, with an undying virtually singular focus. In this case, golf. The downside, as always, and as explained in this book, and which only makes sense, is the inevitable trade off in literally not having the time or opportunity to develop as a well rounded human being. Recognizing this is no slight to Tiger. He could never have become the greatest golfer ever had things unfolded differently in his life. Thank you Tiger and super congratulations on your unbelievable comeback. I got to see you in person at the Masters. It was simply amazing. And thanks to the authors for giving me a chance to understand this amazing individual from other perspectives. It only made me appreciate Tiger even more.I only hope you continue to update this biography because, it would seem, there is much more story to come. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ this is the most complete book about the rise and fall of one of the greatest golfers ever that I've ever read *by J***S on May 8, 2018* Simply put, this is the most complete book about the rise and fall of one of the greatest golfers ever that I've ever read. The way his upbringing, and the way his parents raised him, and influenced him, showed up again and again as he grew into adulthood, and not always in a favorable way. You learn several not so pleasant things about the way he's treated people who were allegedly friends, and especially the people he perceived as enemies. He was constantly surrounded by money - fame - fortune - and obligations to keep it all going forward. All while retooling his swing several times, and (almost) coming back better than before. From a golf perspective, this book also clearly points out - more than once - just how good Tiger was in his hey day. No one - repeat no one - will ever consistently win 30% of the tournaments they enter in a year. Today's golfers would be likely to do it once,...and Tiger did it repeatedly. At one point he was the defending champ - in all four majors - at the same time. Obviously Tiger Woods the man is still a work in progress, and who knows when/if he'll ever win on tour again. But Tiger Woods the golfer is very simply one of if not the best ever. Stop labeling every golfer who wins once or twice "the next Tiger Woods".
