They corrode after prolonged exposure to the moist soil and bring the confidence in it down afterwards. I used this on an internal plant to see if the soil was damp and didn't believe the statement the soil was dry, it was only until the roots starting showing from the top of the pot did I realise it was right and I was wrong! No matter where I tested the soil in our garden, the ph reading was the same. I decided to test the product by putting it in neat vinegar. Sure enough, the meter told me it was acidic. The light meter is not all that great, but moisture and Ph work fine. I tested it in some wheel cleaner, it instantly jumped up to acidic, so wiped off and tested on some PH neutral liquid mix.
