It is produced through burning and staking a specifically selected shell limestone. The stabilizing process of CALCIDUR NHL 3.5 is effected through carbonation and hydraulic hardening. CALCIDUR NHL 3.5 is free from cement! Worked well, my ratio was 3 part sand, 1.25 lime, .25 Portland cement. It is difficult to find technical information on ratios and applications. **Q: What type of sand should be used?** A: Finding the right sand is not easy and it matters for how good the plaster turns out. One wants sand with rough grains in contrast to smooth round so no beach or river sand. As sand is locally quite variant it might require some search to find it.
