It matches the paua abalone pop socket I made (I used a real shell pendant I had and round adhesive to stick it to a popsocket, so I think I have the only one in the world like that). It brings out the iridescence in the abalone, and the light changes the surface color. The magnet is strong and sticks my phone to the car charger even on bumpy roads. The texture of the surface doesn't bother me too much (kind of frosted); you can get fingerprints on it if you have oily fingers, but that holds true for most of these cases… Wipes off easily with an alcohol wipe. I guess if I have any criticism, it's very small, but the lanyard feels a little cheap with that rubber wristband. You don't have to use it with the lanyard, though. I definitely wish I had used a lanyard on one of my old iPhones, which is sitting at the bottom of the Charles River now, after a kayaking mishap. So anyway, it's all lanyards for me now, and at least this has the option.
