I will update on the progress... ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ long battery life, exceptional sound *by R***M on February 10, 2010* i bought this unit to replace the 3 sansa clips i have. the sansa clip certainly have a problem with their batteries. i don't know why cnet will give them such high rating given the fact that sansa li-ion batteries are among the worst in the industry. all 3 of my sansa clip batteries die in the first month of use. now back to the philips, it certainly sound as good as the sansa. battery last much longer. about 22 hours in my own test. i don't like li-ion battery in general since i travel to foreign country sometimes and it is not possible to charge li-ion battery oversea because of different voltage and electrical outlet configuration. and most important of all, all li-ion batteries only last about 2 years. this make them the most unreliable electronic devices ever. i have some sony walkman cassete players with a lot of moving parts and these devices usually last for a decade if not more. and i always use rechargeable aa batteries. now back to the philips, it is fairly easy to transfer music to the unit. i don't even have to install the software that come with the unit. i use it with the koss ktxpro1 headphone and i can hear all the low mid and high frequency VERY CLEARLY. if the battery does not die within a month like the sansa before, i plan to buy another unit in the near future.
