I admit I wanted it because it's such a pretty pink, but once I started using it I realized how comfortable it is to crochet with. It did take me a bit to get used to the short metal part. By that, I mean if you're used to using a completely metal hook you have a lot of room to work the yarn. So I did have to adapt to the way this is made. Still, it didn't take long to adapt. I have carpal tunnel which sometimes bothers me when I crochet a long time, but I'm finding this hook helps quite a bit (for me, the soft grip truly is ergonomic). I love this! First there is a slight difference between the pink and black (really charcoal gray) hooks by this company. The pink is pretty but just slightly smoother.
