We tried swaddling with just a swaddle blanket for the first week of her life, but she always either broke out of it or was still startling awake. I heard such good things about the Ollie swaddle but thought how good can it be for the price you're paying for. We decided to just go for it and it was THE BEST DECISION EVER! Our baby started sleeping so much better afterwards and it is quite easy to use as well. She is nearing 3 months so I am not sure how much longer she will need it once she starts rolling, but I like that it will probably be an easier transition out of it since we can still use it with her arms remaining free. We bought other velcro swaddles which do not work as well, but we still use them during the day and the Ollie at night and she has been sleeping for 6-9 hours at night. I will say one of the cons (when comparing to other velcro swaddles) is that the velcro is very loud, but that is no issue for us because when we need to remove her from the swaddle we (most of the time) are trying to wake her up to feed her during the day anyways. Sometimes at night when she wakes with the Ollie and we want to check if she needs a diaper change, we just undo the rubber band part and check that way so that we don't need to wake her even more with the velcro sounds.
