So, I'd say they run wide. **Q: does the slipper hug your heal, or is it more of a flip flop.** A: more of a flip flop or a slide slipper. Much better sole support than either though. **Q: do you have to wear socks with these?** A: Its not necessary, but I wear socks with them. The first pair I bought I have worn them so until they are just plain scuzzy looking and showing signs of wear so I bought a new pair to wear when guest are around or for vacation. These work for me because they have very good support, seem to be true to size and maintain their shape well. If you are looking for a warm fuzzy inside sole this may not be for you because the inside sole just feels like a regular shoe on your feet but gives excellent support when standing in the kitchen for long periods of time. Also note that these are suede and will holdup better if treated with a protectant before initial wearing. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Not my favorite of Fitflops *by C***S on May 23, 2013* I love Fitflops so I really wanted these. They do not give the support I get from other Fitflops. I prefer the G. Clog. I have back issues so always wear shoes in the house.. I bought two pairs and one pair was not made well. These fit fine and I love the way they look. For me the comfort and support is most important. If you never have tried Fitflops you may like these. I have 3 sandals 2 clogs and the crush boots. If you get the right fit the company makes amazing shoes. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ my gf loves them *by A***S on March 13, 2013* I bought these as an anniversary present for my girlfriend. she has arch issues and recently worn through a pair of ralph lauren slippers (that actually only had cardboard lining between the insole and the external sole). She loves them and I have to remind that they are not actually for wearing everywhere.
