I have owned this for over a month now and it takes less time for me to wind almost a full 482 yd skein of worsted weight yarn into a cake then it would originally take maybe double the time with double the cakes. It is a little loud depending on the speed. It does move a little bit again depending on the speed but as long as you have it secured onto a flat surface you should be fine. It was incredibly easy to put together. Far as functionality, I've learned that if you hold lightly onto your yarn as it's being fed through the winder almost kind of like a guide it helps make the tension tighter on the winder itself to help get a much tighter cake. Also once it's completely done, and you remove it from the ball winder you may be left with a rather large hole in the middle all you have to do is work it a little bit and you can't even tell the difference. I absolutely love this! It has helped me out so much especially since I have quite a large yarn stash. I highly recommend it for anyone who has issues as far as mobility goes with your hands especially if you have been crocheting for over 20 years like I have lol. I would absolutely buy this again if I had to.
