I was skeptical about spending $200, but honestly, I’m pleasantly surprised at this little machine. I actually rented a larger portable Bissell cleaner this past weekend, with a built in scrubber mind you, and this little machine still managed to produce to gunk filled jars worth of nasty water. I will say, the 20 minute battery life isn’t awesome, so if you’re using it for an entire car and not just a single seat, expect to charge the battery before you finish shampooing the whole car. Even with the battery extender mode turned ON, it goes by quickly and it takes some time to charge. Otherwise, there have been no leaks or seal failures after it’s first use and time will only tell how well it holds up.

Now that I've done a couple cars and some furniture with this, I think I can speak authoritarively. First and perhaps most importantly, the battery life on this is terrible. You won't be able to do an upholstered chair on one charge - not if you want to do a good job. I used 4 charges to do a full size SUV, and I could stille extract dirty water if I went over it again. Which brings us to point two - the suction isn't all that good either. No matter how many passes I make, a lot more water goes in than comes out. Third, the sprayer on this is not all that great - a regular trigger type spray bottle is better, though maybe a bit more work. Oh, and it leaks. If you leave the cleaning fluid tank attached, even for a few hours while you get lunch, you will come back and find it empty with the unit sitting in a huge puddle. The value proposition is equally bad - you could buy a small corded shop vac (which would perform better), a sprayer bottle, and an upholstery brush attachment for a cordless drill and do better work, faster, for less money. Now, I spent a bit more and got a cordless shop vac to keep in my car, which let's me keep the mess down over time and need less frequent deep cleaning. If you plan on using something like this regularly, buy a corded unit like the Bissell Big Green BG10 instead, which rocks (although the BG10's upholstery hose is sold separately and still doesn't have a powered brush, and the BG10 can't really do rugs as it will push them around or suck them up). If you are undecided, all the local grocery stores around me rent the BG10 under the Rug Doctor brand - a red version of the Big Green. In this case, the portability, simplicity, and/or versatility of the Little Green doesn't justify it's lackluster performance, although it is capable of turning small quantities of water into much smaller quantities of dirty water. Also, forget about any aftermarket cleaning attachments - I bought some larger non-Bissell brand ones to clean a couch faster and also a smaller one for better suction. Neither seems to work as well as the factory one, with worse spray patterns and lackluster suction (but that's true of the OEM attachment too).
