The larger ones kept my soft drinks COLD in a soft sided cooler for 3 days last fall, with highs in the 70s during the day. This mini one has no problem keeping my poorly insulated lunchbox cold. They are expensive, but they are the best ice packs I've come across. They're also cheaper than the YETI ice packs. I have not seen any deterioration of the ice over the past two years.

**Q: I have a Pelican 45 - how many do I need if I'm going on a 4 day trip to locations with consistent day temps of 104 degrees? Thanks**
A: Really depends on how often you will get into the cooler.  Also, will there be ice in the cooler as well or just the blocks?  Arctic recommends the same weight in blocks as you would use in ice.  I live in Texas and use them in my Pelican 45 all the time.  I would suggest at least 4 of the 5lb blocks, more if you fit them in, that's the equivalent of 2 bags of ice.  Also, the combo of the blocks and ice works really well if ice is ok with what you're putting in the cooler, both the ice and the blocks seem to last longer with both in there.  REALLY IMPORTANT: make sure you pre-chill the cooler.  You can do this by putting a block or a bag of ice in the cooler about 30 min to an hour before you put your other items in.  Make sure you take that block or the wet ice out and replace with fresh before filling the cooler and everything will last longer.

**Q: I'm a fedex delivery driver. our trucks get hot. will this last in an insulated lunch box?**
A: I used mine in a very insulated cooler and it kept things cold during our 6 hour road trip. I am guessing your truck gets hotter than my car did though. I will also caution you that this ice pack was way bigger than I thought it would be so I’m not even sure it would fit in an insulated lunch box, depending on size. Check the dimensions first. Sorry I can’t give a better answer, I honestly don’t know if it was my very well insulated cooler that helped keep it cold.

**Q: Can I mix them with regular ice?**
A: You can, but I can almost guarantee that it will freeze the ice.

**Q: I want to use these for a live bait cooler. My Cooler is 20qt...the bottom is 14 x 9 in, what size should I buy and will it keep cold for 14 hours?**
A: No, it definitely won't. 3 hrs is a stretch and it's totally thawed in 6 hours. Don't waste your money on this. I ended up buying the much cheaper ice jell packs from Walmart and they remained frozen much longer.

These chillin' brew ice packs work really well. I purchased four of the small. 75 pound ones to keep my lunch cold in a polar bear cooler.
