For all those who say the bits are impossible to remove, you are doing it wrong. Watch the attached video. You don't even need to use your thumb to slide the bit out. As long as you are applying downward pressure towards the centre rod as you slide it out, it will release with ease. The reason it is difficult for all those haters is because you are pull away from the centre rod as you are trying to slide it out.
