I was glad, because I knew that it will hold up better in the elements. It comes with the adjustable hooks that attach to your banner. Because we use our new pole in a traditional flag holder that is on the eave of our house, we had to remove the plastic handle in order for it to fit into the hole (no problem, we slit the handle with an exacto knife and it came right off). However, upon inspection, I would have to say it is average at best. The cap is not fastened and pops off frequently (I finally super glued the thing)and the flag fasteners are light weight to hold a good flag (3' X 5' American made American flag).
