Review: Satisfied - After a long search for one of these, I decided on this one. I’m not a big fan of the angled one and don’t really like when they’re really big either. This seems to be the perfect size. I actually went to a cake decorating class and they have these ones. I put this in the dishwasher and it seemed okay but I may not do it again. As for that sticky residue, it didn’t come off in the dishwasher, but after I soaked just that sticky part in super hot water for a while and covered it. After that I was able to remove it and then I put dish soap on it again and it completely came off :) I then wiped it with a microfiber towel. Review: Great baking tool - Oh boy how easy to ice a cake! Great tool and I use at least weekly. Blade states made in Japan. Item is EXCELLENT, well made even if not made in USA. **Q: I've been wanting to buy one of these for a long time but I've never been able to figure out if the size given is from front to bend or to tang?** A: I have never paid attention to that before... After I saw your question, I pulled mine out of my drawer. I measured from the bend to the tip for mine (#1387 which I believe is the 7... ) and it was six inches and change. With the bend part also measured it went past 7 inches. Therefore, I believe it is is from tip to tang. Did not look at the size like a dummy and this is very small. It will be good for something. I will order the larger sizes. I start thinking about holidays now -- have to because so much is gone in that horrid fire. Every time I turn around I do not have something that I need. Spreaders are great and not just for sandwiches, but dips and cakes and frosting of all kinds (as well as a good offset spatula which I actually have now).
