Product description Technical Specifications 2x Forward Magnifier Install and Zero Guide 1. Forward Magnifier Positioning The Monstrum Forward Magnifier needs to be sighted in separately from your primary optic. This can be done easily in minutes without any firing of your weapon. First, make sure to mount your optic with room in the front for the magnifier. Unlike most standard magnifiers, these are mounted in the front allowing you to retain original optic eye relief. 2. Center Height of Forward Magnifier The center height should be as close to the scope as possible, it does not need to be exact. The ghost forward magnifier can be configured in 3 different height configurations with 1.50” out of the box. To install adapters, flip the hinge of the mount into the open position and unbolt (2) bolts connecting the mount to magnifier. 3. Distance between Magnifier and Optic Check the sight picture of your optic with the magnifier in magnified position to ensure a clear magnified sight picture, adjusting positioning if necessary. Ideal position is between 1-2 inches. Make sure there is enough room for the Ghost to clear when engaging the flip-to-side mechanism. 4. Sighting in your Forward Magnifier Sight in your primary optic normally at your preferred distance, with your magnifier flipped to the side, secure your gun in a stationary position (in a gun rest, or gun vise, etc) with the reticle centered on a fixed target (paper target, laser boresighter, etc). 5. Sighting in your Forward Magnifier II Flip the magnifier into the magnified position. Before proper alignment, this will shift the position of the sight picture. Using the magnifier windage and elevation adjustments, adjust the magnifier until the target is centered to the reticle. 6. Sighting in your Forward Magnifier III And you are done. The following is an example of what the optic system should look like when you engage the magnifier after the sighting process.

Review: Works with prism optic - I have this magnifier mounted in front of a primary arms slx 1x micro prism, mounted right up at the forward end of the upper receiver. Tight fit with a magpul mbus sight, 1x micro prism, and this magnifer; but it works and there is some space between micro prism and magnifier. It works as intended and I didn't have to use the spacers to change the mounting height as the primary arms micro prism is also at 1.5" height. I see a review complaining about eye relief and another about field of view. The one complaining about eye relief used this magnifier incorrectly, it goes in front of your optic not behind like a traditional magnifer. I have no issues with eye relief, its the same with or without the magnifier, no change in eye / head position. As for field of view, there is a reduction. It's similar to zooming in with a scope where there is a reduction in field of view. I tried a monstrum ghost ultracompakt 3X micro magnifier, but it didn't work out for me. Could not get proper eye relief or sight picture with any amount of adjusting the diopter. Might work out better behind a red dot or holographic sight. It did work when I mounted it in front of the optic, but I had to mount it to the rail which is not ideal. Returned and bought this 2x forward mount magnifier. For those looking at this 2x forward magnifier hoping that it will magnify the reticle (dot, crosshair, etc..), it will not. It can only magnify what it see's and since it mounts in front of the optic, it doesn't see the optic and can't magnify it.
Review: seems pretty good - Excellent quality for the price, optics are very good. A little bigger than expected but still fairly compact. Having unlimited eye relief is wonderful but the field of view is a little bit limited. The mount is robust, steady, and securely snaps into both positions without movement. Has oddball spacing on the mounting hardware which eliminates the possibility of using a FTC mount. Has to be zeroed rather than just centered which allows a second long range zero.

I have this magnifier mounted in front of a primary arms slx 1x micro prism, mounted right up at the forward end of the upper receiver. Tight fit with a magpul mbus sight, 1x micro prism, and this magnifer; but it works and there is some space between micro prism and magnifier. It works as intended and I didn't have to use the spacers to change the mounting height as the primary arms micro prism is also at 1.5" height. I see a review complaining about eye relief and another about field of view. The one complaining about eye relief used this magnifier incorrectly, it goes in front of your optic not behind like a traditional magnifer. I have no issues with eye relief, its the same with or without the magnifier, no change in eye / head position. As for field of view, there is a reduction. It's similar to zooming in with a scope where there is a reduction in field of view. I tried a monstrum ghost ultracompakt 3X micro magnifier, but it didn't work out for me. I love this thing. Paired it up with the PA 3x micro prism. Lined up perfect and really works. If Monstrum reads these, two improvements made could easily be worth 5 star reviews and a whole lot more sales. 1) add qd mount instead of one requiring a tool.2) ED glass with all the nice little coatings. Things do get a little dark when looking through the prism and magnifyer and it is the magnifyer after checking. I would glady buy another and be happy to pay twice as much. Other than that, still a good product.
