But I'd disagree to an extent and recommend it only as an interesting oddity, just because you've heard of it across the internet for the last decade or so.Certainly Tommy Wiseau is a very unique and interesting actor to watch onscreen. His odd speech syntax and delivery certainly raises a few laughs. But the "best" bits, you've probably already seen in YouTube clips and endless "Bad Movie" review uploads. Buying this DVD for the lulz, is unnecessary as you've likely already seen the things that have made it so infamous.I will give it the positive nod, that it isn't BORING. Some "so-good-they're-bad" movies are very guilty of a few laughs dispersed sparingly in among LOTS of very boring plot exposition. The Room, is just weird enough to hold your attention and make you want to see where this is going. This plot isn't that interesting, but Tommy Wiseau pulls it along with his bizarre delivery. The rest of the cast are generally just not very good, to be brutally honest. Not so-bad-they're-good, just a bit meh. They're all pulled along with Tommy Wiseau, because he holds all of your attention.This is perhaps considered the "worst of all time" and it really IS not the case. I've seen films that forced me to turn off after 20 minutes, due to their absolutely turgid amatuer approach ( lots of those godawful straight to video trash - so called - exploitation misery ). But I quite easily made it to the end of The Room, not through constant belly laughs, but through it being...hmm....kinda "interesting"??? I think I was more endeared to Tommy Wiseau, than the plot itself.Best of the Worst, The Room is not. You want mind-bending AMAZING awfulness, go for "MIAMI CONNECTION", "SAMURAI COP", "GETEVEN", "FATEFUL FINDINGS" and "TROLL 2" instead. Those 5 alone will quench your awful film thirst for years to come. I'd almost put "BIRDEMIC" up there with them, if not for a LOT of BORING beyond words sequences. But The Room, for me, isn't up there with those films. They're a cut above.You're better off watching YouTuber's take The Room apart in their bad movie reviews, than actually spending money on this film, as they show all the "best" bits anyway. You won't be missing out on much else from the film.If you can find The Room for super cheap (it usually is way too overpriced, playing on it's notoriety for extra dollars) then go ahead and own it. Nothing wrong with supporting film makers, no matter how inept they are. Otherwise, spend your hard earned cash on those other films I listed. You'll get much more funny for your dollar/etc.3 out of 5, because it IS an interesting THING. But don't buy too much into the hype. YouTubers make it their business to make hyperbolic statements and I think they've made this film, the film it is, regardless of what it actually deserves to be. For example, mostly forgotten. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Great film, BAD dvd! *by L***A on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 20 August 2017* Was really looking forward to watching this - ordered it through Global Store and waited for it to be delivered from the US.Sat down to watch it, only to find that the scenes were disjointed, all jumbled. Thought it was down to bad editing at first (another reason for it's 'so bad it's good' label) but soon realised that the scenes were ACTUALLY out of order. One scene would end.....then you'd get 1 second of the next scene starting before that cut away to a completely different one. We actually saw the END of the film at around the 35 minute mark....then proceeded to sit through the rest of the jumbled mess just for the hell of it. What I saw was as expected, hence the 4 star rating. Know it would've been better in the right order!Disappointed. Though meme culture has made me want to watch it again properly to finally tick it off the to-do list.I figured I'd go all in and buy the Blu Ray and it was an excellent move. Not only did I get a Tommy Wiseau headshot inside the case, but the film had so many more surprises in store that had somehow escaped spoiler to me through all the pop-culture coverage this film has had.It was region-free too, so it played fine on my PAL PS4. Don't be put off by this costing more than normal films, if you're a person of culture and humour.
