I did this but found that the strip just would not adhere properly to the sharpening kit, it kept opening up at various points along the plate and would not lie flat. Eventually I had to remove the first abrasive strip and discard because some of the backing came off. I decided to start again with a second strip but used a bit of my own strong glue in order to keep the strip down properly. This worked. The strip stayed flat and in situ and I got on with sharpening the cylinder blades. I expect the only problem will be when I get round to taking this strip off to replace it with another one. But having sharpened the cylinder once it still looks like it could be re-used - so that issue remains to be seen. As for the quality of sharpening - the cylinder blades had to be adjusted several times in order for abrasive to make contact with the whole length of the blades. After about 5 minutes and there were several black lines remaining at various points along the blades that just wouldn't sharpen up. Having said that the grass was much easier to cut, there was no tearing or discolouration from having been ripped/torn (as was the case prior to sharpening). So, although fiddly to put on the sharpening aspect did work hence four stars. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ They work well! *by L***S on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 October 2021* These strips work well and give a good edge to the lawnmower blades.
