Almost too easy. I made sure my water was where I wanted it before I started using it. The directions are simple - add one tablet per tablet of chlorine. I put these tablets in my skimmers because I have a chlorinator. After a few months of using it, I have to say...it really works. The pool glistens like liquid glass. Every time I check my pool, pH is around 7.5 and alkalinity is around 90. The chlorine has normal efficacy. Some people say this gets "sudsy". It is not "a little extra cost" as noted by another. Baking soda is $4.50 for 13.5 lbs at Costco in one bag. This is 7 pounds for $20. The tiny amount of clarifier supposedly binds particles together so your filter catches them more easily. Not something you really need to concern yourself with. **Q: Every week I have to add acid to my pool to decease the pH. Will these tablets keep the pH from increasing?** A: It is 86% baking soda, which will increase you pH. I would discontinue using a chemical that reduces your pH unless you are trying to raise pH. Pools only need three chemicals: Chlorine, Clorine stabilizer (CYA) NO more then 30ppm, and muriatic acid. Boric acid can be used to stabilize your pH as well, which will raise you pH, but as it is an acid not as much as baking soda will. **Q: Can i just drop the tablets in my pool or do i have to use a dispenser? i only have one dispenser that i put the cholorine tabs in. we have an 18x9'** A: Add 1 Baking Soda Tablet to every 1 chlorine tablet.
