I got it because we want to improve our home's energy efficiency. We’ve discovered that it can be used for so much more. It’s fairly simple to use. You simply need to point the camera at the suspected area, and it will display varying colors representing different temperatures.Ways we’ve already used it:We used it today to find our new little kitten. I searched everywhere for her and was beginning to worry that she had gotten outside somehow. I attached the thermal imaging camera to my phone and started scanning room to room. I found her within minutes asleep behind a dresser.I’m using it to check all electrical gadgets and appliances throughout the house. That will take time, but I’ve already discovered that our older food processor has a defective cord. It could have started a fire at some point. We’ve also checked the circuit breakers. Luckily, everything was fine.Ways we intend to use it in the future:The thermal camera will help us detect heat loss around windows and doors, where cold air in the winter is entering the home. It’s summer right now, but when the weather gets cold, we want to keep all the heat inside.We are going to check all the electrical outlets.
