Or, do you cook noodles with it clipped onto pot?** A: I cook the noodles, then attach the clip. I personally never had any issues with steam burning me. I turn the pot to the side that I need to clip it on, never put my hand over the steam. Most of the time the strainer is okay for the amount of noodles I am cooking too. But occasionally, I will use the lid to help keep them from falling out and that's mostly when I am turning the pot almost upside down (like to really drain the macaroni vs. spaghetti). **Q: Let me rephrase my other question. does anyone have a problem with the pot, not the steam, burning them when they try and put this song on?** A: I have used this strainer multiple times and haven't had any problems with burning. I hold it by the clips and it goes onto the pot without difficulty.
