I wish I'd found this before having to trouble Amazon with the return of a similar purpose case that was not suitable for my needs.The photos led me to think this was a base with cap, It is not. It is better! Top fits over the bottom (or vice versa depending on how ya look at it) making it adjustable. This is EXACTLY what I needed!Every other sponge holder/case that is NOT adjustable is way too big. They run (generally) 3" X 2" to 2½". That works for wet sponges (with room to spare) but who puts their makeup sponges away wet??! They were too big for one, but squashed 2.This one is made of smooth silicone 2mm thick, and feels sturdy enough to compete for a corner in my makeup case without demanding too much real estate.
