The 36" wide track between the wheels means that the ground you run it over has to be pretty level, otherwise it'll belly on the high spots. Also, not sure the magnet could pull a nail up from 2" even without compacted wood chip in the way. I think you need to contact the Starship Enterprise to ask if they could supply one of their tractor beams... **Q: What is the magnetic pull/force of this please? Thanks** A: Hi there , it's very strong , I use it outside my unit , we have storage sheds a short distance away and when we shuttle pallets back and fourth to work on they sometimes drop old loose screws so using this device easly picks them all up and any other metel shards you can't see . It has a handle on the top to disconnect the magnet so drops all metal items to make easy for cleaning. What I have got a problem with is the poor Chinese build quality, just about every nut is only finger tight nothing has been tightened up.
