The next six numbers is the expiration date. It reads year, month, and then day. **Q: How long does it take to work ?** A: On our dogs it seems immediate. It works as soon as it enters your dog's system. So you apply and let dry. You have to think about the fleas activity. They may still have some eggs hatch. Those fleas will die almost immediately. I bath my dogs. Let dry well, a couple of hours on short hair.
