These feel and play smoother, to me, and of course you'd need to try them yourself depending on your playing style and preference. I've been using Gator picks for decade now and really like them. I play a lot of bassy and hard driving acoustic guitar on all sizes of acoustic and the thicker gauge is a lot of fun and very helpful for that. I purchased as mixed gauge pack and found that the thinner ones are really fine for creating a backing track with more of a featherlight kind of fullness is how I can come to explain it. I also use these on a resonator guitar and the thickest gauge available for Gator picks really carries a full force kind of playing. These picks last a very, very long time for me also.
