The last hinge set (dreadful plastic things) cracked in just two months. I decided to try this soft close seat instead and glad that I did ! Absolutely identical and compatible; fits directly to the same stems that the standard seat was attached to, and the soft close hinge does appear to be a sturdy metal lump - much better and hopefully will last a long time. Comes with the right size allen keys and a pair of stems. Bit pricey but hopefully this will solve the problem I had with the standard 'easy remove' plastic hinges. Review: Nice seat but maybe with flaws. - This was a replacement seat for a broken Roca Giralda.This is the third seat i have had to order in four years in my apt.This time one of the small bolts holding the lid had snapped. I like the fact that this is a soft closing seat so if you let the seat go it doesn't bang down hard. I had to order this particular seat as it was the same seat that was fitted in my bathroom when i purchased my apt. Thankfully you could still buy this seat even after four or five years. I've add it for more than 6 months now and the seat has not moved a bit. The system keeps it in place extremely well so much better than the usual £30-40 seat. Further more, the material is easier to clear and still looks brand new after 6 months.
