Normally I grab some sand from outside and bring it in for the chicks to give them some grit. It takes time to clean it and make it as pure as possible for the babies. They love the sand but I thought it may be better to get some chick grit and give myself peace of mind. The sand outside could have bad things in it that the baby chicks are not ready to deal with.
