PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't throw away the little plastic white pry tool that is for removing the floating disk but also for opening the floating disk as well so you can clean it and dry it out. I wish the direction explained that more so people wouldn't throw away parts because even though this is only $35 that's still a lot if you have to keep replacing it. To use The pry tool: Take the Pry tool and press it where the white and black parts meets and wiggle it around the side, all the way around and it will pop open, and you can put the parts back together after your done cleaning. Also I turned the floater over and pry open the middle area as well to help get things started.
