To tie legs. Not sure if they would break if you went around the whole body with the bands. I can do that with chicken, but a 20 lbs. turkey may be a problem. Consider the spool of twine they sell on this site to tie the bird up. It works well. **Q: Can they be used in a pressure cooker** A: I don't see why not. I use them over a hot grill, they wash up in the dishwasher. Have bought for my son's and they use them for all kinds of cooking. **Q: Do you have other sizes?** A: Superior Kitchen Gadgets does not have other sizes of this item but you can hook several together to get longer lengths. **Q: So they handle high temp well. If you need big, fat ones, then get big fat ones! These are fairly small - maybe 10cm by 2mm - but they're excellent for the kind of thing one would use a regular rubber band for. I don't cook with them or anything like that, I just prefer them to grotty rubber bands. Yes they worked ok to attach the chicken but within 5 to 10 minutes of cooking 2 of the bands had broken off. I did not over tighten the bands either. These bands are sold as suitable for high heat cooking. So I am now back to using baking string.
