However, this glass milk container is an essential accessory for all Jura owners who do not have the far more expensive milk cooling system. The glass can hold enough milk for around 6 flat whites. Once coffees have been made, it can then be stored in the fridge ready for use, whilst the milk system is cleaned using Rinza liquid. The milk container its top and steel tube fit neatly in the dishwasher. This is recommended by Jura as it is the most effective way to pasteurise the container. The only downside is that the glass container does have to be handled with care. My previous glass container lasted 8 years until I accidentally dropped it. (I know the lid can't)** A: Hi, wouldn't recommend it as the glass is quite fragile, mine unfortunately broke without while I was cleaning it. **Q: Is this suitable to wash in the dishwasher?** A: I’ve never washed mine in the dishwasher as our coffee machine is always in use and the dishwashers usually full anyway. However the glass base is just like a large glass and should be no different to any other glassware in a dishwasher. The lid has a plastic type insert presumably to form a seal to allow the milk to be syphoned out, and I would be a bit concerned that this could deform somewhat under the hot water in the dishwasher.. Probably not, but not worth the risk.
