Product Description Glutinous rice is sticky, sweet, waxy or botan rice, is a dry, chewy and glue-like rice that is predominantly eaten with the fingers, while scooping up sauces, chili pastes and food. True glutinous rice is a favourite of the people of northern and north-eastern Thailand and its neighboring country, Laos and is a dense, extremely chewy rice variety. **Q: Was this packed in a facility that handles gluten containing cereals too? (I know that this rice is gluten free but can get cross contamination.)**
A: The facility does not process or pack gluten containing cereals and is not at risk of cross contamination.

**Q: Does this need soaking if your using a rice cooker**
A: Royal Umbrella Glutinous Rice does not need to soaked prior to cooking in a rice cooker. The following cooking instructions are recommended:
1. Place the desired amount of rice into a basin and rinse once and drain. 
2. Place the rice into a rice cooker and add water. Ratio of rice to water is 1:1 or adjust to suit personal preference.
3. Cook the rice following the rice cooker instructions. Do not open the lid to stir the rice while cooking.
4.  When the rice is cooked, leave for 15 minutes, then fluff with a fork and serve hot.

**Q: That this come in a well packed package or  repacked just like the review? And expiration?**
A: Ours comes in the original packaging and will have between 12 & 18 months life on it.

**Q: Can i use this to make rice wine**
A: We’ve never tried to use this particular rice to make rice wine, but it is used for brewing beer.
