Wood ?** A: Wood, off cuts and paper **Q: Where would i get the cooking grate to go with it?** A: I’ve had a look and it confirms it’s not supplied with grill and cannot be ordered as add on I measured the size of the fire pit, excluding the flat border. I'd fancied one for a while we did have an old gas patio heater, until it decided to die. We didn't want to buy another as they're not especially environmentally friendly and it was a chore to store away for winter and then reassemble, so we agreed on this pit. It's very sturdy and I wanted one with the surround to put plates on, when using as a bbq. There were several available on the market in the style but some came with a weather proof cover and others came with a grill to cook on. We chose this one with the cover thinking it would be easier to find a separate grill than a cover to fit. The sale even suggested a grill that 'many bought with it'; unfortunately, it doesn't add that many probably return the grill because it doesn't fit. We still haven't found a square grill to fit but we have bought some rectangular ones to overlap each other for now. Hence the one star knocked off.
