Fit/finish is excellent, sharpening choil very well done, all edges are chamfered and there are no sharp corners. Liners are polished, and milled to reduce weight. Pocket clip is well done; carries deep and has no tension issues. G-10 is well textured, grippy but not aggressive. Edge grind is mostly even and consistent, and the stonewash finish is beautiful. The overall design really sets this knife above others. The grind comes to a very thin edge, which cuts really nicely. Blade/handle ratio is also solid, you get about the same amount of cutting edge as a Spyderco Paramilitary 2 (about 3.1 inches). A little nitpick I have with many thumb stud knives is that the stud often protrudes into the cutting path, but this design does not have this problem. The blade shape gives the advantages of a wharncliffe blade, but gives it a bit more belly. This blade really reminds of a Spyderco Yojimbo 2, but less tactical and smaller.The steel choice can be considered less desirable than D2, but I would rather have better fit/finish and QC than a slightly better steel. The only real complaint I have for this knife is the jimping along the spine is a little too smooth and non-commital.The bottom line is however, this is likely one of the better value knives on the market, not because of the material choices, but because of the great design and fit/finish. This would still be a great option at $40, so $25 is really quite a steal. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Near Perfect EDC. *by G***5 on November 26, 2018* I received this knife today, so this is a first impression. Very nice boxing, including a 20% off coupon for my next Tangram. Nice touch. Action is buttery smooth, and the blade deploys easily and fast with the thumb stud. My knife was delivered very sharp, and overall workmanship was excellent. Liner lock very solid, and no blade play. G-10 handles have an excellent amount of grippiness for me. The blade ramp has minimal but adequate narrow jimping, the only jimping on the knife. Blade was centered. Good handle length for an XL hand, a bit larger/longer than a Rat ll, which is a great knife but a bit small in my hand. Smaller than a RAT I though, nice tweener size. Clip is deep carry and not too long, solid except for access to the screws. I expected this to be a great knife based on the reviews, and I was not disappointed. A very nice, quality knife with good steel worth $60 or more for much less. Same quality as Kizer, but Acuto 440 steel, which is supposed to be a Japanese improvement on 440C. Good steel for the price. Very pleased so far, and anxious to put the Acuto 440 to the test! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ A really nice budget knife! *by R***D on April 4, 2020* This is a really nice budget option for ~$26. Overall, I would recommend this knife to anyone who wants a low cost, decent blade and is willing and capable of doing a bit of work to tune it up. The good- blade is nicely shaped; the scales are nice, blade is centered; came sharp; good size- not too big, not too small; carries okay; action is really nice- once adjusted; sharpens easily; detent is good; locks up fine; easily serviced, as all screws are T8. The bad- the knife was slathered with oil inside, and required disassembly to clean it up and adjust the action. I did this with a T8 driver, some alcohol wipes, and a good gun oil on both sides of the outer washers. The knife has three washers on each side of the blade at the pivot- a paper thin nylon(?) one (inner) and two thin bronze washers on each side. I only lubed the outer washer of the three on both sides and left the other two dry. The action is now great. Opens easily and not quite falls shut. Pretty nice for a budget option. The screws seem soft, so be careful with them. The blade steel is marked as Japanese Acuto, some sort of 440 variant, so it won't hold and edge very long. But, it is easily sharpened, and at this price point that's all you reasonably expect. The knife is made by KIzer and is their lowest tier offering. My conclusion is- if you want a good beater knife for light to medium duty tasks you can't really go wrong with this one.Two weeks update- I used the knife extensively for cutting around the house- food, cardboard for recycling, etc. The knife required a touch up after two weeks of use. No problem sharpening this knife on a Spyderco sharpmaker.
