Deluxe Beetlejuice Costume

I thought this would be rather chintzy, thin, and easily ripped. That was not the case. This was much better quality than I thought. The way that the "shirt" was made was a happy accident. I often get pretty hot in too many layers. This made it so that I did not overheat. I'm 5'10" and about 180 lbs. This fit like a glove.

For the price, you can't beat this deluxe version of the costume. I concur with most of the others on the overall quality being obviously less than that of a normal suit but it looks great, seems plenty durable, and is fairly lightweight, which I'm going to appreciate when I wear it out this weekend in the unseasonably warm Texas fall weather (80s). As far as fit, I'm a somewhat lanky 6' 2" at around 185lbs and surprisingly, the "standard" size fits me almost perfectly. (I wear a 33/34 pant and 42L jacket). I think most of the size complaints are about the width, not so much the length, so if you are fairly slender and tall, the "standard" is the way to go but if you are much over 6' 3" and/or over 200lbs, probably want to go "XL". YMMV. The bib thing is better than I'd expected based on other reviews. I may still go with normal shirt and tie but this would definitely work too and will be cooler temperature than a normal shirt.

I purchased both this costume and the standard version, both in "Standard" size. Neither one of the costumes includes the wig or makeup. Of the two versions I much prefer this deluxe costume. For reference I am 5'11", 195 lbs and wear a 42 Regular. The deluxe costume (Rubie's #888736) uses a matte woven fabric that resembles suit-type material. The jacket has a single button closure, is snug in the armpits, but the sleeves are the correct length. If I button the jacket I need to suck in my gut in order to prevent it from stretching and pulling at the button. The lapels on the deluxe jacket have a much better appearance over the standard version but the jacket is not lined. The included dickie with tie comes down almost to the waist on the front and the back, and it has strings on the sides to tie it. I did not try on the pants but they use a cinch and tie closure. I plan on wearing my own white shirt and black tie to complete the look of the costume. EDIT: The pants have a Velcro closure and are a little snug and I needed to use a safety-pin to keep them from opening. The costume looked great at our Halloween party! The standard costume (Rubie's #888735) on the other hand uses a shiny, satin-esque, very thin material. The jacket has a single dot of Velcro where the button should be and the lapels are backed with foam, which look like they will flip over to expose the reverse side and ruin the look of the costume. The included dickie with tie is very small, it only covers the front and ends just below the chest area. The jacket is snug in the armpits and the sleeves are too long, but sized correctly across the chest. Again, I did not try on the pants but they also have a cinch and tie closure similar to pajamas. The standard costume looked fine, but for me it was worth the extra cost for the deluxe version.

This Beetlejuice outfit was an absolute hit 😂 The second my husband put it on he immediately started acting unhinged for no reason, so I’d say it did its job perfectly. The quality was actually way better than I expected for a costume, and the fit was really comfortable. Everywhere he went people kept yelling “BEETLEJUICE!” and laughing. Definitely one of the most fun costumes he has worn and it got attention all night long!! Worth the money and time 😊

The jacket could have been a bit loose, but it was perfect for my partner who's 6' and weighs 185 lbs.

It fit pretty decent! Runs a bit small and no stretch but it was great! We had a great time and costume was worth the money! He is wearing standard size.

This costume is fine, looks nice, and fits as expected. This is a very nice replica for the price. However, costume DOES NOT include wig, mask, or face paint. These must be purchased separately. This information could be better stated in the descriptive text and is not clear by the product photo.

This costume not only fit perfectly, but was made much better than I expected for the price! The material was light but sturdy, and even the Velcro fastening on the pants held up for the many hours I wore this costume two night in a row. I wear women's size 14-16, and have a very large bust, so I was worried that the standard size would not fit, but it ended up feeling as if it had been tailored just for me! I did end up wearing my own button up and tie, btw. I will continue to wear this for years to come as the elastic in the pants can easily accommodate many sizes! Highly highly recommended!

La tela me pareció de buena calidad e incluso las costuras tienen buen acabado. El traje es completo, incluye una camisa blanca, el traje y una corbata. Respecto a la talla, mido 1.80 y peso 84 kg, y pedí talla como standar y me quedo grande… pero ya puesto queda Justo como lo usa BJ (queda holgado) pero no se miraba mal, así que no me decepciono!!!

Excellent costume..! Fits perfectly (the only thing I had to do was iron the 'shirt' - which is like a smock, so you need to wear a white t shirt underneath) and helped me to win first prize at an 80's night..!
